Our History

At 18 years old, with one truck, Mr. Meeks started a hauling company which he quickly expanded by re-investing its profits. Within two years, Mr. Meeks had won contracts to provide hauling services for some of the region's largest projects, including the expansion of the Chesapeake-Bay Bridge Tunnel.

A seasoned businessman, husband, father of four, and patron of his local community, Mr. Meeks uses a unique set of skills and experiences to drive Greenwave's growth.

Starting with a single metal scrap yard in Greenville, NC, Danny Meeks started Empire Services, Inc. The business was a success from day one and Mr. Meeks began planning its expansion.

By 2007, Empire had grown to 5 metal recycling facilities almost entirely through the re-investment of its profits and cashflows generated by operations.
